Captain Bobby Carr and his wife NaKisha have been named the new Salisbury Corps officers for The Salisbury Salvation Army in, which serves all of Rowan county. The Carrs have been active officers with The Salvation Army for 13 years. Both are ordained ministers and pastors of the Salisbury Corps, and lead services every Sunday as well as youth and adult Bible studies.

The Salvation Army assists with food and helps with utility and rental assistance and also works to stop human trafficking and help victims of it in our area.

It also has a summer day camp program which has enabled twelve local children to attend camp this summer.

The Salvation Army also hosts an after school program, and new this fall, a bag lunch outreach, and is  starting already to prepare for Christmas assistance this year with the angel tree program.

Current needs at the Salisbury Salvation Army are clothing and furniture donations to the Family Store located at 521 Jake Alexander Blvd.

The income from the Family Store goes to support SA assistance programs. Even clothing that is not in good condition will be acceted, as there is a salvage program that is used to bring money back into local  programs and services.

The Salvation Army always appreciates and needs financial donations,  of which 85% of every dollar donated goes to direct service and the other is used for administration and facility cost.

Also needed are volunteers at the family store and with the red kettle bell ringer at Christmas time.
