A Kannapolis man faces several charges after a traffic stop in Iredell County.

Boyce Tallent, 33, of Kannapolis, was driving a 1998 Honda on Old Mountain Road near Hickory highway when he was stopped for a traffic violation on July 18.

Lt. C.L. Stone spoke to Tallent and told him why he had been stopped and asked him to get out of the car and sit in the officer’s car while Stone issued a citation.

Stone searched Tallent before asking him to sit in the patrol car. Tallent was found to have 12 doses of oxycodone.

Tallent was then charged with possession of schedule II substance and driving while license revoked.

On July 19, Deputy Cameron Kerley initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation of a vehicle on Morrison Plantation Drive in Mooresville. Upon speaking with driver of the vehicle, Ethan Brown, deputies smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted where 1.3 grams of marijuana were located. Brown received a citation for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
