David Lamanno’s focus is on expanding the tax base in his bid for a spot on the Town of Spencer Board of Aldermen.
Lamanno, 47, is a self-employed photographer and a part-time worker in the history room at the Rowan Public Library. He is also a current member of the Spencer Planning Board.
If elected, Lamanno said he would be a committed and open-minded team player. He said it’s vitally important for the town to expand it’s tax base. He also said the town should continue to improve its physical appearance.
“I believe that serving as an elected official should go beyond just being available one evening on one day of the month,” he said. “I will call on my fellow aldermen to look for new and creative ways to engage the community.”
Lamanno said he would support the finalization of the Stanback Educational Forest Project, adding bike lanes and establishing a future greenway connection to the Yadkin River.
Lamanno is a graduate of Western Carolina University. He is active in music ministry at his church, a substitute teacher in the Rowan-Salisbury School System and a member of Landtrust for Central North Carolina.
He is married and has two children.
