The Uwharrie District of the United Methodist Men is sponsoring the first annnual Unite In Christ Rally. This event is open to all men and clergy from any denomination. The date of the event is Oct. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 3401 Mooresville Hwy.

There are three workshops to choose from. Attendees will have time to attend any two.

The workshops are:

• Cultural Diversity in Our Church, presented by worship leader Rev. Aldana Allen;

• Safety and Security in the Church, presented by Carolina Tactical;

• Disaster Preparedness; presented by Rev. Frank Gordon (a nationally certified trainer in this field).

Rev. Dr. Gary Shockley is the keynote speaker. In addition there will be a continental breakfast in the morning during check-in and a full barbecue meal for lunch. To register go to  www.wnccumm.org/ud15rally
