The Salisbury Academy Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament will be held on Friday, Sept. 25.  This year’s tournament returns to the scenic and historic course at the Country Club of Salisbury.

The golf portion of the event is captain’s choice, and the tennis portion is doubles format. Registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m,. followed by a shotgun start for golfers at noon. Tennis play will begin at 2 p.m., with players broken into two divisions: beginner/intermediate and advanced.

“It’ll be a fun time for all,” said co-chair for the tournament Mark Robertson. “Besides playing on a great Donald Ross-designed golf course, this year’s players will have the opportunity to intentionally smash giant panes of glass with golf balls for cash prizes.” People may have seen this on The Golf Channel’s “Big Break” TV show, Robertson says.

The tournament provides an opportunity to play golf and tennis while spending time with family and friends. It also offers financial support towards a quality education for the children of Salisbury and surrounding areas. Net proceeds of the tournament go directly towards tuition assistance and scholarships for Salisbury Academy students.
