Kathy and Darrell Norris of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, John Matthew Norris, to Emily Jane Harkins of Winston-Salem.
Emily is the daughter of Bill and Mindy Harkins of Denver, Colo. A 2004 graduate of Lakewood High School in Colorado and 2008 graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, she is the director of Student Ministry at Augsburg Lutheran Church.
John is the grandson of C.E. and Frances Norris of Salisbury. A 2002 graduate of East Rowan High School, he will graduate this year from Catawba College. John is the director of Youth and Family Ministry at First Lutheran Church in Lexington and is also employed by City Beverage in Winston-Salem.
The couple will marry Oct. 10 at First Lutheran Church in Lexington.
