Rev. John E. and Mrs. Gladys F. Jones of Ridgeway, S.C., celebrated their 60th anniversary Oct. 11, 2014, at a Diamond Anniversary Celebration Dinner with family and friends at the City Park building in Salisbury. Guests included their grandson and wife from the United Kingdom.They were married Oct. 9, 1954, in Fairfield County, Winnsboro, S.C., by Judge Horace Traylor. Rev. Jones retired as a small building contractor retiring after 30 years. He is the current pastor of United Missionary Baptist Church, where he has ministered 39 years. Mrs. Jones is a housewife and is a Sunday School teacher at United Baptist, where she has served 30 years. Their children are John E. Jones Jr., the late Mary D. Jones, Gwendolyn R. Lee, Timothy Ray Jones, Joyce J. Alexander and Sherry D. McCree, all of Salisbury. They also have 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
