There will be a time of blessing for the comfort and care visitation teams at Mount Zion United Church of Christ, 1415 South Main St., during the 11 a.m. service Sunday.
Like the disciples in years past, visitation teams will be sent out two by two to share the “gift of presence” with the homebound, retirement residents and those in special need of comfort and care.

United Ministerial Alliance of Salisbury-Rowan will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., at 7 p.m., Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 300 South Caldwell St.
The guest preacher will be Dr. Serenus T. Churn Sr., senior pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Winston-Salem.
Churn is a member of Novant Health Board of Trustees, Mount Zion site director and an adjunct instructor at Shaw Divinity School and Drew University Theology School.
He is the author of “And I’ll See You In The Morning,” an anthology of funeral messages, helps for sermon development, family visits, funeral and grave side services.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 205 St. Paul’s Church Road, welcomes a new pastor to lead the congregation as it begins a new chapter in its 184-year ministry.
The Rev. DJ Lura was installed during morning worship on Jan. 12 by former pastors the Reverends Bill Ketchie and Floyd Bost.
The installation was followed by a reception honoring Pastor Lura and his family, hosted by St. Paul’s Women.
A native of North Dakota, Lura is a graduate of North Dakota State University in Fargo and Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn.
He has served congregations in Minnesota as a youth minister and associate pastor.
Lura comes to St. Paul’s from Centennial Lutheran Church in Kimberton, Pa.
He is also author of a book, “So What’s a Lutheran, Don’tcha Know?” and a Leader’s Guide to the Augsburg Confession.

Updated in summer 2012, Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success.
The course meets once a week where a different lesson is taught by Dave on DVD followed by a small-group discussion.
Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.
FPU will be held in Salisbury at World Hope Worship Center, 2203 Mooresville Road.
The classes begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19.
