Deadline for Posters is 5 p.m.

• World of Faith Outreach Ministry Appreciation Services, Oct. 1-10 at 7 p.m. nightly, Sunday at 5 p.m. 5370 Stokes Ferry Road.

• Community blood drive, 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3: Troop 350 Eagle Scout Community Blood Drive, First Reformed Church, 210 N. Central Ave., Landis, in the back parking lot. Contact Zakk Perdue at 704-762-7141. Nursery provided. Also bring donations for Main Street Mission, canned or non-perishable foods and good condition clothing.

• Limited seats still available for Harrah’s Cherokee Casino trip on Oct. 10. Money due ASAP. Leaving old Belk’s parking lot at 7 p.m. and returning Sunday at 8 a.m. Cost is $40 with $20 returned upon arrival at casino. Call 704-232-5201 to pay. Sponsored by Steppin’ Out Social Club.

• Dr. Patricia Steele-Trueblood, will be telling stories at Elizabeth Duncan Koontz Elementary School Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for  literacy night, to help parents read to their children.
