The East Spencer Town Board has named David Jaynes as the town administrator effective today. Jaynes, 32, is a resident of Winston-Salem and graduate of Appalachian State University.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s in public administration.

Mayor Barbara Mallett noted that the Board of Aldermen is impressed with Jaynes’ energy and background. Mallett said, “We are fortunate to recruit quality staff that is willing to tackle the ambitious plans outlined for the town of East Spencer.”

Jaynes has served as a management intern in Jonesville and in Pilot Mountain. He has also been a management consultant with All American Associates and has worked on revitalization of the Kimberly Park neighborhood with Habitat for Humanity in Winston-Salem.

Jaynes said “I am really looking forward to working with aldermen and residents in reaching our goals and objectives.”

Macon C. Sammons Jr., who has been town administrator since 2011, will become grants and capital projects manager in October.
