Sacred Heart Catholic School’s younger elementary students could not be more excited to have Marley and his owner, Norma Shuping from Canine Angel Therapy, visit them once a week for reading lessons.

Shuping read a story about families to the kindergarten class and then three  kindergarteners took turns reading a story to Marley.

Sacred Heart’s seventh grade class is all about science and math and were super excited that the Rowan-Salisbury School System STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Bus came by for a visit.

Neil Pfifer, science specialist and planetarium director with Horizons Unlimited, serves as one of the STEM Exploration Lab mobile classroom teachers for the Rowan-Salisbury School System. He brought the STEM bus to Sacred Heart for morning exploratory lessons in STEM. He used a variety of tools during his lessons on the bus and in the school classroom.

Students were able to use Vernier Labquest and scientific probeware to gather data and conduct experiments in small groups. They also were exposed to a Promethean ActivBoard and Proscope mobile microscopes.
