North Rowan’s football team lost 35-17 to West Stokes in a game moved up to Thursday in King because of weather concerns.
The Cavaliers trailed 21-3 at halftime. Jacob Young kicked a field goal for North.
The Cavaliers scored second-half touchdowns on Xavier Haley’s 18-yard run in the third quarter and Josh Ellis’ 34-yard TD pass to Trey Stoner in the fourth quarter.

Prep volleyball
Salisbury’s varsity lost to West Davidson 19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 24-26 and 19-17.
Juliiana Anderson led the Hornets with 20 kills, 19 digs, and 11 blocks.
Jane Miller had five aces, three kills and 12 digs. Lila Harry had 16 assists, Makayla Dillon had 14 and Lora Withers had 10.
Rebecca Malloy and Abby Lee had nine digs each.

Salisbury’s jayvee team lost to West Davidson 2-0. Ariyan Duren Williams had five kills and two aces. Kaya Twitty had three kills and three assists. Mary McCullough added four assists and Abigail Lund had six digs.

Prep girls golf
Carson’s Micah Furr shot 36 and was medalist in the SPC match held at Warrior on Thursday.
Cox Mill, led by Jaime Cassell’s 38, shot 125 for team honors.
Carson shot 135. Adison Collins shot 42 for the Cougars.
East Rowan shot 152 for third place. Camryn Corriher and Monzi Patel shot 50s.
South Rowan shot 154. Lea Morris and Ellyse Scarborough shot 49s to lead the Raiders.
Ella Ferguson shot 50 to lead West Rowan. The Falcons shot 165.

Prep soccer
South Rowan rallied to beat West Rowan 3-2 in SPC soccer on Thursday.
Lupe Bautista, Omar Camacho and Casey Ayala scored for the Raiders.
Walker Joyce and John Fulton had assists.

Imperial Brown
Imperial Brown is hosting the Rowan Little League world championship softball and employee families at the factory on Saturday.
The team won the World Series in Portland, Ore., the Imperial Brown West Coast factory location, so Imperial Brown employees in Portland attended games and the company hosted events for the team.
This event in Salisbury is the culmination of that trip and the promise the company made to have a celebration back home with Salisbury employees and families
Rick Schermerhorn, Imperial Brown President and CEO, will host a tour of the plant factory for the Rowan team, guests, employees and families.
“Imperial Brown is proud of the Rowan softball team,”Schermerhorn said. “The team’s work ethic to win the Little League World Series tournament is the same dedication we see on the Salisbury factory floor.”
Imperial Brown is one of the top six walk-in cooler/freezer manufacturers in the world.

Catawba athletics
Catawba will offer a Baseball All Skills Showcase Camp on Sunday, Nov. 15, at Newman Park.
The Catawba Indians All Skills Showcase Camp is designed to provide high school players with the opportunity to be evaluated and play in front of college coaches.
The staff is led by the coaches and players at Catawba. Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. The camp is from 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost is $110 and includes lunch (Team Rates Available). Bring cash or check on the day of the camp, payable to “Diamond Performance”

Catawba lost 3-2 in overtime to Lenoir-Rhyne in SAC men’s soccer on Wednesday night.
Catawba (2-4, 1-2) got goals from Kenny Bonilla (Salisbury) and Matt Wikinson.

Catawba fell to 3-3 and 2-1 in the SAC. Catawba keeper Angelica Pawlowski recorded four saves.

Local golf
