Rufty-Holmes Senior Center will have an open-to-the-public meet and greet with Salisbury City Council candidates Thursday during an informal luncheon.
Named Stump ‘n Stew, the event will give each Salisbury City Council candidate an area to talk one-on-one with attendees. It starts at 11:30 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m. at Rufty-Holmes, 1120 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Salisbury. The luncheon will be held in the Addie Rhem Morris Room.
Complimentary beef and vegetable stew, bread, desert and a drink will be served at no cost to attendees.
Lunch is provided by the Rowan County Council on Aging at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center.
During the event, candidates may distribute literature or other items related to their candidacy. There will be no speeches and no question-and-answer forum. Candidates are only scheduled to meet one-on-one with voters.
An event announcement states the luncheon is intended for older voters residing in the city of Salisbury.
