Ellis Fire Department is hosting a barbeque dinner fundraiser on Nov. 15 for Kathy Smith, who is currently battling stage four cancer.

Originally diagnosed with breast cancer, Smith has also suffered from thyroid cancer. The cancer has spread to her bones, recently causing Smith to break a hip.

Tickets for the dinner are $8 per plate, which includes barbeque, slaw, baked beans, a bun and dessert. The dinner will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Ellis Fire Department, 3420 Old Mocksville Road, with the option to dine in or carry out. Delivery will be available for eight or more orders to the same location.

There will be items available for raffle the day of the event. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards helping with medical bills and other needs.
