From staff reports
Will Leckonby hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter, and Tre Oats, Wes Fazia and D.J. Alexander pounded the glass all night in a routine 82-53 win at South Rowan on Monday.
Salisbury (6-0) hasn’t lost, while South (0-5) hasn’t won, so the non-conference result wasn’t a surprise.
The Hornets led 24-12 after a quarter and by 47-22 at halftime.
Salisbury played without starting guard Isaac Baker (ankle), but it didn’t matter much. The Raiders have lost all of their outings by at least 20 points.
DeShawn Troutman scored 16 to lead the Hornets. Leckonby (12), Alexander (11), Oats (10) and Fazia (10) scored in double figures for coach Bryan Withers, who won against the school he coached the last three seasons.
Fazia and Oats had three-point plays on a single trip down the floor.
Sophomore Jaqwon Hester scored 17 for the Raiders. Senior Tre Littlejohn battled for 13 points. Colson Childers made three 3-pointers, all in the first half.
