On Monday, Dec. 21, “Share the Goodness of the Season” Christmas Turkey Giveaway will take place at Catawba College’s Shuford Stadium.

Curtis Walker Elite Football has teamed up with Food Lions Feeds for the annual “Share the Goodness of the Season.” Families in the Salisbury/Rowan County area that are in need will receive a free turkey dinner with all of the trimmings during this Christmas holiday.

Families have been identified through the local helping agencies here in the county (Salvation Army, Smart Start and a few local elementary schools).

Curtis Walker has been head football coach of the Catawba Indians since December 2012. Walker was a four-year starter and three-time All-American linebacker for Catawba in 1989-92. He was inducted into the Catawba Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 and into the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame in 2008. Walker was Catawba’s team most valuable player in 1991 and served as team captain in 1992.
