South Rowan loses doubleheader to Vikings

LANDIS – Central Cabarrus swept a South Piedmont Conference doubleheader at South Rowan on Tuesday night.
The Vikings won the boys game, 55-49, behind 16 points from Kyran McClure. Isaiah Salter added 13 points. South was led by Ian Bradshaw’s 17 points and nine each from Jaqwon Hester and Tyrese Shaver.
The Raiders (0-8, 0-6 SPC) led at halftime, 21-20, but Central (4-4, 2-4) outscored South, 18-9, in the third quarter to take command.
In the girls game, 18 points from Janiya Downs and 12 points from Riley Corriher was not enough for South (1-6, 1-5 SPC) to beat Central (4-5, 3-3).
The Vikings were led by Mahaley Holit with 16 points, Justice Wallace with 15, 12 from Brooke Breedlove and 11 from Jania Ikard.
