Police say a Henderson student caused a ruckus at the school Tuesday afternoon when he began cursing, kicking classroom doors, an a/c vent and a water fountain after he was disciplined.

Jamir Rasan Clodfelter, 16, was charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

When Salisbury Police officers arrived, Clodfelter was sitting on the steps just inside the entrance to the school, located at 1215 N. Main St. The school was temporarily placed on code yellow lock down until police officers arrived, said Police Capt. Shelia Lingle.

Code yellow simply means that all the doors to the school building are locked and secured. Classes continue during a code yellow and students aren’t permitted to leave the building.

Clodfelter remained in the Rowan County Detention Center on Wednesday under a $1,000 secured bond.
