Bellisima, a bridal boutique at 100 W. Innes St., is moving to Winston-Salem after about five years in downtown Salisbury.
The shop offers designer wedding gown fittings for brides on a one-on-one basis.
Monica Cameron, owner of the boutique, said she got a lot of her business from out of town.
“It was time for me to expand. I’ve run out of space,” she said.
The current store is about 1,300 square feet while the new location will be 2,600 square feet in space.
While the current location only has space for one bride at a time, the new location will have space for three private bridal fitting areas. Cameron said she will still give brides the one-on-one attention she always has.
“It’s really a nice, personalized, kind of luxurious experience,” she said.
She said she had to turn customers away because of her limited time and space.
“It was either time to grow or just know that this was my space and I was going to have to turn down customers,” she said. “I didn’t want to do that.”
After looking at where most of her clients were coming from, Cameron found that they were traveling from the Piedmont Triad area.
Cameron said she will miss working steps away from her husband Bill, who she said has been a big support, and son Grant, who grew up in the shop.
She also said she would miss everyone she has met through the bridal shop over the years. Cameron said she gained many friends from working with brides and their families to find and perfect their wedding gowns.
“We really take care of our brides. It’s really like building a relationship,” she said.
At the new shop, Cameron said she has hired four staff members who will be working with the brides. The staff will go through intensive training and shadowing in order to provide the same customer service the shop is known for.
“Hopefully I can delegate a little bit more,” she said.
Giving her clients a personal experience is the most important thing for Cameron, and she hopes to carry that on to Winston-Salem.
“I want them to remember me, not just as a salesperson, but that I was part of their day,” she said. “It feels good.”
Bellissima will be opening on Feb. 6. It will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and open Wednesday through Sunday.
The shop will be on 839 Reynolda Rd. in Winston-Salem. To book an appointment or get more information, call 336-602-1900 or visit bellissimaofsalisbury.com.
