The Dilly Dally is opening in its new location today.
After spending six months in the previous location on West Peeler Street, the painting studio is now at 110B S. Main St.
Amber Springer, owner of the studio, said the space is bigger, has better lighting and the downtown location will increase foot traffic.
There will be a new chalkboard wall, a private party room with string lights and new specialty paints available to guests.
The studio will also be able to offer 20-inch wood cutouts and can cut up to 36 cutouts.
The Dilly Dally offers wooden designs and monogrammed cutouts for guests to paint and decorate. Guests of all ages are welcome. The studio hosts private and public events, including girls nights out, bachelorette parties, work events and birthday parties.
Guests do not have to be part of an event to paint at the studio; people can just go in and paint.
“It’s been a really fun atmosphere for all ages and most of my guest who have come in have come back several times, which is very exciting,” she said.
Examples of painted wood cutouts will be organized by theme in the studio. There are themes for different seasons and holidays.
“They’re not just spread all over the place,” Springer said.
The studio will also start offering classes. There will be a class for people to paint small spring wooden benches, a face painting class and a wreath making class.
During the grand re-opening, Springer said there will be free giveaways for adults and children, as well as refreshments and the usual painting.
Springer said she hopes the new location will bring in more business and be more convenient for guests.
“I’m hoping that my name will get out there,” she said.
Springer said people have been responding well to the new location; there are already 50 people scheduled to come in and paint on Saturday and about 200 people coming into the studio over the weekend.
The Dilly Dally will have extended hours today, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The studio will usually be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Wednesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. After hours appointments are available from Wednesday through Friday.
