Rowan weather: Sunny, less windy

The weather forecast is still short and sweet, with plenty of sunshine and warming temperatures.
Today will be sunny and 66. The winds will be from the east northeast at 5-9 mph. Tonight’s low will be 63 with east winds at 3-7 mph.
Friday will be mostly sunny and 63, with the stiffer winds returning, from the east northeast at 7-13 mph, gusting up to 18 mph. The low will be 40 again, with east northeast wind at 5-7 mph.
Saturday is going to be a busy day, with the Touch a Truck event, the Cruise-in in China Grove, the opening of the Farmers’ Market and the grand opening of New Sarum Brewery. Some downtown streets and parking lots will be closed for the trucks. The 100 block of South Church will be closed, and the city may close the block of Fisher Street in front of Rowan Public Library. The former First Bank parting lot, the Wells Fargo lot, and the large lot that faces the library will be closed. The truck event runs 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
If you’re going to the Farmers’ Market, it’s best to enter from the Fulton Street side.
The weather will be perfect, sunny and 67. Winds from the northeast will be at 7-9 mph. Saturday night’s low will be 44.
Warmer Sunday, with a high of 71 and more sun. the low will be 47.
Much warmer Monday, with a high of 80 and sunny skies. The low will be 53.
Mostly sunny Tuesday, with a high of 77 and a low of 54.
And Wednesday should be mostly sunny with a high of 75.
