SALISBURY – Kurt Thomas Shuping, 77, of Salisbury, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Born Nov. 19, 1929, in Rowan County, Mr. Shuping was the son of the late Eudora Hess Shuping and Orlin Perry Shuping. A graduate of Rainier, Ore., High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Mr. Shuping was a carpenter and a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;He was preceded in death by brother Rudolph Shuping and sister Doris Glace. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Survivors include his companion, Peggy Cook of Salisbury; son Rudy Shuping and wife Debora of Lincoln City, Ore.; brothers Paul Shuping of Columbia, S.C., and David Shuping of Clemmons; sister Christy Thompson of Rockwell; grandchildren Carrie and Bethany Shuping; and great-grandchildren Onika and Makiah. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday at Salisbury National Cemetery with military rites by Rowan County Honor Guard and its chaplain. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Lyerly Funeral Home.
