Although the weather has caused some events to be rescheduled, the Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games will continue into this week.

According to the Rowan County website, the Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games joined the North Carolina Senior Games in 1983. Its vision was to promote and encourage health education and programs for adults 50 years of age and above.

There are more than 700 participants, according to the website.

According to the Rufty-Holmes Senior Center’s Facebook page, last week’s track and field events were canceled because of the weather. They have been rescheduled for April 26 at Livingstone College at 10 a.m.

The cornhole competition was supposed to take place on Friday, but was canceled because of the rain. It has been rescheduled for May 3 at the Rowan County West End Plaza Event Center. The women’s event will be at 10 a.m. and the men will compete at 2 p.m.

The next scheduled event is a golf competition at 8 a.m. on Monday.
