Camp Ready in Kannapolis June 22-23

KANNAPOLIS — The American Red Cross, in conjunction with Kannapolis Fire, Police and Parks & Recreation departments will host Camp Ready Kids at New Hope Lutheran Church in Kannapolis on June 22 and 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The free two-day safety camp is open to rising first- through fifth-grade students.
Camp Ready Kids is designed with a variety of entertaining and educational activities to teach campers about safety guidelines, disaster and emergency preparedness. Campers participate in a range of activities including:
- Fire safety training
- Environmental safety
- Health and Wellness training
- Gun safety, bullying, internet security, and/or drug abuse prevention
- Forest safety
- Basic first aid
- Water safety training
- Disaster/Emergency Preparedness training
- Games, prizes and recreation time
Campers are asked to bring a bag lunch each day, but morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
