Pops at the Post: Frequently asked questions

Question: How long does the concert last?

Answer: Pops at the Post usually is a two-hour long concert, with a 15-minute intermission, although attendees are free to leave at any time.

Q: Will there be programs available?

A: Yes. Guests can follow along with the course of events by picking up a handheld fan with the program on the back. Fans are available at the Salisbury Symphony tent located along Innes Street.

Q: Where can I park my car?

A: Free parking is located all over town. There are no specific parking lots set aside for event parking.

Q: Is there handicapped parking available?

A: Yes. Handicapped parking will be located off Innes Street in the Post courtyard.

Q: How many reserved seats are available?

A: Around 300 reserved seats are available, which are typically reserved for sponsors, Salisbury Symphony season members, visiting retirement groups, and the handicapped. At 7:45, vacant seats will be offered to the general public.

Q: What will happen if it rains?

A: In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to Keppel Auditorium located at Catawba College. Currently, the city is looking into providing shuttle services from Catawba parking lots to the auditorium. A decision will be made on location at noon on Friday. More information will be available in the Salisbury Post or on the Salisbury Symphony website.

Q: What if there is an emergency?

EMS, city police, and the fire department will be on site for the concert.

Q: Is alcohol allowed?

A: No. The event is “family friendly,” Symphony executive director Linda Jones said.

Q: Are pets allowed?

No. No pets are allowed.

Q: Where will restrooms be located?

Portable toilets will be located in the back of the parking lot.

Q: When can I come set up chairs?

A: Guests must wait until noon on the day of the concert to come scope out a place to sit for the concert.

Q: Is tailgating an option this year?

A: Yes. Tailgating spots can be reserved online by visiting www.eventbrite.com/e/pops-at-the-post-tailgating-2016-tickets-24753899580. Spots can be purchased for a $50 donation to Pops at the Post. Tailgaters can begin arriving at 1 p.m. on concert day until 7 p.m. Only a few spaces are left.

A: Donations can be made to Pops at the Post by mail at P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, NC 28145. Contributions from the public help to continue the annual event.
