Cora Lee Ketner

CHINA GROVE — Cora Lee Ketner, 90, China Grove, died Dec. 20, 2006, at her home.
Born March 6, 1916, in Kannapolis, Mrs. Ketner was a daughter of the late Roy and Cora Lee Propst.
She graduated from Catawba College in 1938 with a degree in music education and taught music at China Grove Elementary School. She had played the piano since age 5 and gave piano lessons in her home for more than 30 years.
Beloved pianist at First Baptist Church of China Grove for 47 years, she also taught Sunday school and was a member of WMU.
Her husband, Food Lion co-founder C. Brown Ketner, to whom she was married for 55 years, preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Jeffrey B. Ketner, Salisbury; daughters Marsha L. Carter, China Grove, and Betty A. Scruggs, Durham; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchilden.

A service was held Saturday (Dec. 23, 2006) at First Baptist Church of China Grove. Burial, Phaniels Church cemetery, Rockwell.
