I-85 in Rowan County will have weekday shoulder closures between mile markers 70 and 63 to preform pipe and shoulder evaluations for the upcoming I-85 widening project.

Department of Transportation begins work on Monday, June 6 that will last for about four weeks leading up to the July 4 holiday.

The work project will start with median shoulder closures on the southern end of Rowan County near exit 63 and work north towards exit 70. Tentatively starting the week of June 20, DOT will also be installing nighttime lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for roadway evaluation.

N.C. DOT will close the 100 block of East Centerview Street in China Grove at the railroad grade crossing on Thursday, June 9, beginning at 9 a.m. in order to add an additional track at the crossing.

Centerview Street will be closed between Main and Harris Streets until Friday, June 15.
