SALISBURY – Edward Franklin “Pat” Copley, 86, died Thursday Dec. 21, 2006 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 6, 1920 in Davie County to the late Martha Jane Everidge Copley and Robert Lee Copley. He attended Davie County Schools and served as a member of the US Army during WWII. He was a nursing assistant for the VA Hospital for 25 years and a member of Trading Ford Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Irmena Leonard Copley, whom he married Sept. 19, 1941; daughters Carole T. Peninger and husband Arnold L. of Salisbury; grandchildren, Michael W. Thompson of Concord, Lori Weaver and husband Mark of Salisbury, Brad Peninger and wife Heather of China Grove and great-grandchildren, Justin and Grayson Thompson, Drew Leazer and Nick Weaver and Morgan and Krista Peninger.

Graveside Service: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trading Ford Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Mike Motley, with Military Honors by the Rowan County Honor Guard.

Visitation: 11-12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trading Ford Baptist Church Fellowship Building.
