SALISBURY – Christine “Chris” Mize, age 82, of Salisbury, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006.

Born Aug. 29, 1924, in Wadesboro, Mrs. Mize was the daughter of the late Lucetta Meeks Brower and H.T. Brower. She was educated in the Rowan County schools and was a graduate of Boyden High School.

Early in life she worked for Cartex Mills, and she was a homemaker. A member of Second Presbyterian Church, she was also active with her Sunday School class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elwood Mize, on March 14, 2000.

She is survived by her brother, J.H. “Pete” Brower of Salisbury.

Also surviving are special friends Harvey and Elender Morgan of Salisbury and special caregivers Nell Powell and Peggy Barnette.

Visitation: The family will see friends at 1 p.m. Thursday at Summersett Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of her brother, 202 E. 14th St.

Service: Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Summersett Memorial Chapel with Dr. Roger C. Mackey, pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow services at Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery.
