CHARLOTTE – Joe Miller Wright, 88, of Charlotte, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Mr. Wright was born Jan. 17, 1918, in Shelbyville, Tenn., a son of the late Florence Raby Wright and Eli M. Wright. He graduated with a degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He retired as a plant manager for the Southern Electric Service Company. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Mr. Wright was a former director of the Electric Apparatus Service Association, member of the Charlotte Rotary Club, Providence United Methodist Church and the Christian Home Sunday School Class. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;He enjoyed traveling and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Adams Wright. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;He is survived by daughters Linda Wright Croner and husband Jeff of Rockwell and Joni Wright Demera and husband Carlos of Charlotte; son J. Miller Wright Jr. of New York City, N.Y.; Finnish daughter Heidi Forsman Barringer of Helsinki, Finland, and Charlotte; and grandchildren Keith, Scott and Tracey Croner and Stephen and Gabriela Demera. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Providence United Methodist Church with Dr. Ken Carter officiating.
