Dr. Sanford R. Silverburg and Leanore “Lea” Schwerin Silverburg of Salisbury celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 26, 2016. They will celebrate with a trip to New York City for dinner and a show with family and friends.

The Silverburgs were united in marriage June 26, 1966 at Temple Israel in Gary, Ind. by Rabbi Carl Miller. Sanford retired from Catawba College after 40 years as a professor emeritus. Lea retired from Rowan-Salisbury Schools where she was an exceptional children’s teacher for 29 years.

The couple have two sons, David Evan Silverburg of Houston, Tex. and Danial Hugh Silverburg and wife Kristine Pasto of Sharon, Mass. The have one grandchild, Olivia Francesca Silverburg.
