KANNAPOLIS – Grace Martin Hess, 84, formerly of 210 York Ave., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury after a period of declining health. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Born Sept. 25, 1922, in Davie County, Mrs. Hess was a daughter of the late Bonner Elijah Martin and Ella Rosa Creason Martin. A resident of the area since 1947, she was employed with Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 and Plant 4 Spinning Room and Overhauling Department for 47 years until retirement. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Mrs. Hess was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years, Arthur Lee Hess, in 1993; brothers John Reuben Martin and Bonner Elijah Martin Jr.; and sisters Annie Lee Hess and Addie Mae Hess. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Surviving is a sister, Dorothy M. Gudger of Salisbury. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis with the Rev. Coy Privette officiating. Burial will be at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Visitation: 12-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Memorials: North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust St., Kannapolis, NC 28081.
