Ruth Penninger Haire

CHINA GROVE – Ruth Penninger Haire, 89, of 910 S. Franklin St., died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center following several months of declining health.
Born April 19, 1917, in Rowan County, Mrs. Haire was the daughter of the late of Frank and Ada Miller Penninger. She was a graduate of Woodleaf High School and a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Haire retired from China Grove Cotton Mill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace E. Haire, on Dec. 28, 1966, and son Eugene “Sonny” Haire on March 4, 1999.
Survivors include daughter Patricia (Coy) Shive of Rockwell; brother Robert Penninger of Woodleaf; sisters Helen Waller of Woodleaf, Bobbie Miller of Statesville and Barbara Jean Bradley of Glen Elyn, Ill.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Service: 12 p.m. Wednesday in Northcrest Chapel of Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, conducted by the Rev. Barrie Kirby. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Following the graveside service, the family will be at the home on South Franklin Street, China Grove.
Visitation: 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the home of daughter at 6110 Highway 152 East Rockwell.
