CLEVELAND – Ellen Yates Gabriel, age 69, of Cleveland, died Wednesday Dec. 20, 2006 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 2, 1937 in Russell County, Va. to the late James Harmon Yates and Mary Maggie Coleman Yates. She was a home maker.

Mrs. Gabriel was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Sigmon Gabriel on Aug. 2, 1986.

Surviving are her five sons, Jimmy Gabriel of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Danny of Cleveland , Gary of Catawba County, Perry of Concord and Henry of Charlotte.

Brothers: Roby Yates of Fla., Marvin Yates, MI, Richard Yates, Va.; sisters, Virginia Yates and Lucy Yates Fortner of Salisbury and Edna Ashford of ME. survive her. Seven grandchildren also survive.

Service: The family will have a graveside service today at the Cleveland Town Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Snipes, Pastor of Resurrection Life Church of Salisbury officiating.

Visitation: The family will see friends following the services.
