Mabel M. Anderson

KANNAPOLIS – Mabel Morgan Anderson, 84, of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Magnolia Gardens in Spencer after four years of declining health.
Born April 29, 1922, in Rowan County, Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of the late John Levi Morgan and Mary Gaskey Morgan. She was employed with Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 Sewing Room and had worked for the company for 47 years until her retirement.
A member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, she and her late husband enjoyed serving as greeters, visited and contacted members of her Sunday School class often, had served as a Cub Scout leader in earlier years and enjoyed spending time reading her Bible.
In earlier times, she enjoyed spending time with her husband’s Pearl Harbor Survivors Association in the Women’s Auxiliary. She also took great pride serving as PTA president at Woodrow Wilson School in earlier years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 59 years, Jack M. Anderson, on Oct. 23, 2002, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are son Barry Anderson and wife Lealia Ann of Kannapolis; daughter Glenna Moore and husband Eddie of Kannapolis; brother Carl Morgan and wife Maryanna of Salisbury; and grandchildren Lisa Moore of Cornelius, April Swinson and husband Jeremiah of Rockwell, David Anderson of Kannapolis and Kelly Smith and husband J.D. of Cornelius.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, North Kannapolis Baptist Church with the Rev. Coy Privette officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
Visitation: 6-8 tonight at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
