HYPOLUXO, Fla. – Vickie Lane Smallwood, 58, of Hypoluxo, formerly of Kannapolis, N.C., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Fla.

Born Jan. 1, 1948, in Cabarrus County, Miss Smallwood was the daughter of the late Ruby Jo Towell Ervin and John Smallwood. She was the assistant treasurer for Lake Worth Drainage District in Delray Beach, Fla.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ervin, and her stepfather, Robert Lee “Bob” Ervin.

Survivors include sister Sherry Goforth and husband John of Kannapolis; dear friend Al Swain of Hypoluxo; aunts Dee Hamm of Apex and Helen Peck of Hollywood, Fla.; and cousins Bo Bundy of Texas, Mike Norvell of Leesburg, Fla., Joan Ottaway of Apex and Heidi Peck of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sarah Weaver will officiate. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Saturday at Lady’s Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the family home, 532 Kiser Ave., Kannapolis.
