LongHorn Steakhouse managing partner receives national recognition
Chris Foote, managing partner of the LongHorn Steakhouse in Salisbury, has achieved parent company Darden Restaurants’ Diamond Club status.
He joins a group of top-performing managing partners recognized this year for their commitment to delivering guest experiences at the highest level, while making a difference in the lives of guests, team members and in their community.
This is the fourth time Foote has received this recognition.
“Chris is committed to his restaurant team members, and to creating a superior dining experience for all our guests,” said Todd Burrowes, president of LongHorn Steakhouse. “This honor is a true testament to Chris’ dedication to always delivering friendly, attentive service, paired with our signature boldly seasoned and expertly grilled steaks.”
This year, Foote joins an elite group of 23 managing partners selected from the more than 480 LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants in North America, making this a truly exclusive honor.

Angels at Heart to host back-to-school giveaway
Angels at Heart Home Care will be hosting a back-to-school giveaway at 1326 N. Main St. on Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
H&R Block and Above and Not Beneath, a mental health center, are partnering with Angels at Heart to put on the event.
There will be free book bags filled with school supplies for students in kindergarden to eighth grade, food and a health station where nurses will be performing blood pressure exams.
There will also be praise dancing, a dance contest, bounce houses, music from DJ Peaches, games and door prizes.
The event is free but parents must be present in order for children to participate.
