SPENCER – Sarah Catherine B. Adcock, 87, of Spencer, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at her home.

Born April 28, 1919, in Rowan County, Mrs. Adcock was the daughter of the late Tracy and Carmen Cornelison Benton. Educated in the Spencer city schools and Salisbury Business College, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Adcock, on May 18, 1968, and a grandson, Sean Robert Noseworthy, on Jan. 19, 2000.

Survivors include sons Joseph Adcock (Pam) and Tommy Adcock, both of Salisbury; daughters Sara Rhodes (Donald) of Stanfield and Mary Owen (Charles) of Spencer; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday at Summersett Funeral Home.

Service: The funeral will follow at 12 p.m. Tuesday in the Summersett Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Snipes officiating. Burial will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery, Government Road location.
