Franklin T. Tadlock

CHINA GROVE – Franklin Thomas Tadlock, 70, of 930 Daugherty Road, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte following a courageously fought battle with a brain tumor.
Frank, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, was born April 19, 1936, in Pageland, S.C., to the late Vernon Preston and Minnie Evans Tadlock. He was educated in the Pageland schools and at Rowan Tech and Catawba College.
A longtime member of First Reformed Church, Landis, he had served as Sunday School Superintendent, president of the Consistory, on the Long Range Planning Committee, Youth Adviser, Pastor Search Committee and was a Deacon.
President of Frank Corriher Beef and Sausage Co. for many years, he also had served as president of N.C. Meat Processors Association and as president and treasurer of American Meat Processors Association.
He was a County Commissioner for 10 years and had served as Chairman several of those years. Frank was involved with many fundraisers for political campaigns. He was active in the South Rowan YMCA and the Service Club. Frank was chairman of the Capital Campaign Committee for the building of the South Rowan YMCA. He was instrumental in getting the new South Rowan Library, which was named in his honor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers J.D., Hazel and Truett Tadlock and sisters Connie Jones and Margaret Hyatt.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda Sue Corriher Tadlock; sons Jon Tadlock (Lisa), Carl Tadlock (Laura) and Brian Tadlock (Lisa), all of Landis; brothers Gerald Tadlock (Sissy) of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Harold Tadlock (Amelia) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters Eunice Gibson of Concord and Carolyn Terry of Badin; and grandchildren Morgan, Davis, Preston, Carleigh Sue Tadlock and Leah Miller.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church conducted by the Rev. David Franks. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6:30-9 p.m. Friday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the home.
