The United Ministerial Alliance of Salisbury and Rowan County will present a special program beginning at noon Saturday at the Tower of Power Church, 601 E. Cemetery St.

The purpose of the meeting is to bring community service providers, pastors, city officials, citizens and other interested parties together to discuss ways the community is addressing various community issues and ways to work together.

Bishop Ronald Hash is inviting mayors and county commissioners.

“Too often, you only hear about the bad things that are happening. I have been at several meetings lately and was very impressed with the programs that many of the community organizations are doing,” Hash said.

The format of the meeting is to let the pastors and other parties have the opportunity to learn what is being done in the community. Each community provider will be given five minutes to present his or her program and distribute material. After each provider has presented, questions and answers will be allowed and discussions on how to work together.
