MOCKSVILLE – Alphonso “Grant” Spillman Jr., of Junction Road, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at his home.

Born April 4, 1954, in Rowan County, Mr. Spillman was a son of the late Alphonso and Sallie Brown Spillman. He worked as an auto mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by brothers Dock and Delano Spillman.

Surviving are brothers Clarence Spillman and wife Nadine of Mocksville, Joe Spillman of Mocksville, Richard Spillman and wife Joyce of Cooleemee, Keith Spillman and wife Cheryl of Salisbury and Roger Spillman and wife Debbie of Cooleemee; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service: 4 p.m. today at Legion Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Morrison officiating.

Visitation: 2-3 p.m. today at Welch Funeral Home.
