Bernice Hunter Hicks, 87, 2122 Brantley Road, died Sunday (Jan. 14, 2007) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.
Born June 26, 1919, in Pageland, S.C., Mrs. Hicks was a daughter of the late John Monroe and Mattie Langley Hunter.
She was a former co-owner/operator of the Camera and Hobby Shop with her husband of 60 years, James Lenson Hicks, who died March 1, 2001. She retired in 1986.
She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons James R. and Monroe Hicks, both of Concord; sister Johnsie Mungo, Pageland, S.C.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. today (Jan. 17, 2007), Whitley’s Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jim Grigg. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 2-3 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
