SALISBURY – Kent Winrich, former director of broadband and infrastructure services for the city of Salisbury, was given six weeks of pay and accrued vacation pay as part of his separation agreement with the city.

The total six-week payment amounts to about $12,690 and the accrued vacation pay amounts to $2,100, according to Linda McElroy, communications director.

After serving as director of broadband and infrastructure services for almost two years, Winrich submitted his resignation on Aug. 24.

Winrich started with the city in November of 2014. He came with more than 25 years of experience in broadband, having worked for global businesses, such as IBM, and small consulting companies.

Before working for the city, Winrich managed the European network of Hibernia Media, a company that provides content transport services.

Evans Ballard, budget and benchmarking analyst, has taken over as the interim director for the department. According to a press release, Ballard has worked in the city’s finance department for 14 years.
