SALISBURY — The parent company of Magic Mart has announced that the Salisbury location will be closing before the end of the year.

According to a press release from Ammar’s Inc., Magic Mart’s parent company, the store at 725 Jake Alexander Blvd. S. will shut its doors in December.

The company declined to give the reason for the closing.

“This was a hard decision to make,” K.A. Ammar III, president of Ammar’s Inc., said in the press release. “We have enjoyed our time here in Salisbury and are thankful for the privilege of serving such a wonderful community.”

The company said Magic Mart will tentatively stay open until early December.

“We are saddened to leave, but we trust that our employees will quickly be able to find employment with some of the other fine businesses in the area due to their superior work ethic,” Ammar said. “We are also hoping some of them will be able to transfer to our Lexington location.”
