SALISBURY — The eighth “Faces of Trinity Living” portrait exhibit will open Friday at Waterworks Visual Arts Center with a public reception on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The exhibit includes 28 portraits in a variety of mediums created by 16 local artists.
“The artists all do such an amazing job putting their own personal touches on each portrait,” said Christina Joyce, executive director of Trinity Living Center. “Whether it’s a grin, eyes that tell a story or a special hat worn by the participant, these artists have captured it all in a way that leaves you wanting to know more about the face staring back at you. Our participants and their families will treasure these gifts for many years to come.”
This year’s exhibit will be accompanied by a short bio of each subject written by Patty Messick, reminding viewers to look beyond the surface and realize the rich lives these people have led over the years.
Artists include Mark Brincefield, Caroline Marshall, Barbara Garwood, Jenny Booe, Keyth Kahrs, Patt Legg, Tamera Shue, Jim Taylor, Clarke Armstrong, Cindy Chandler, Don Moore, Marietta Foster Smith, Colleen Walton, Gerry Webster, Randall Kane and Chuck Whitley.
Sponsors of the exhibit include Livingstone College, Trinity Oaks, Waterworks Visual Arts Center, Trinity at Home, Summerset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, F&M Bank, Chandler Concrete Company, Brookdale Senior Living Solutions, Carillon Assisted Living of Salisbury, Mr. & Mrs. Rocky Eller, Mr. Steven Dillard, Ms. Annie Lewis, Mrs. Jane W.
