College Basketball: Appalachian State wins again

BOONE — Nathan Cranford scored 24 points to lead three players in double-digit scoring as Appalachian State routed The Citadel 95-54 on Saturday afternoon.
Kellen Brand and Donte Minter came off the bench to score 15 points and 13 points, respectively, for the Mountaineers (16-5, 8-2 Southern Conference), who scored 26 points off 17 turnovers.
Donny McClendon scored 11 points and Dametrius Nelson came off the bench to add 10 for The Citadel (6-15, 3-7), which shot just 40.7 percent from the field.
Appalachian State led 50-25 at the break on 63.3 percent shooting from the field.
The Mountaineers finished with 63 percent shooting from 3-point range (17-for-27) and 62.7 percent from the field (37-for-59).
The score was tied only once.
