Fannie Magdelene King Pharr, 92, formerly of Elwood Street, died Jan. 24, 2007, at Transitional Health Services.

Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Waxhaw, Mrs. Pharr was a daughter of the late Samuel Rufus and Sarah Missouri McManus King.

She formerly worked for Belk Department Store and Isabell’s Dress Shop.

Her husband, William S. Pharr, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons Tommy Pharr, Charlotte, and Ron Pharr, Chapel Hill; special niece Ruth Nash and special nephew John Rufus King, both of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday (Jan. 27, 2007) at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Max Smith. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Lady’s Funeral Home was in charge.
