KANNAPOLIS – Margaret Wilson Overcash, 87, of 7945 Freeze Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Avante Nursing Center in Concord after five years of declining health.
Born Feb. 4, 1919, in Iredell County, Mrs. Overcash was a daughter of the late Milas Leroy Wilson and Dora Bell Morrow Wilson. She was one of 13 children in her original family.
A lifetime resident of the area, Mrs. Overcash was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, making quilts and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church in Kannapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carnie Mitchel Overcash, on Aug. 10, 2003.
Surviving are son Charlie Mitchel Overcash of Kannapolis; daughter Martha Overcash Foster of Kannapolis; grandchildren David Overcash of China Grove, Sheila Johnson of Badin, Randall Foster of Kannapolis and Brian Foster of Mooresville; great-grandchildren Noah and Skylar Foster, Brooks Overcash, Alex Catoe and Tad Johnson; brothers Leonard Wilson of Salisbury and Leroy Wilson of Mooresville; and sister Evelyn Hastings of South Carolina.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Enoch Lutheran Church in Kannapolis with the Rev. John Mark Beam officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 tonight at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. At other times, the family will be at the home of daughter Martha Foster, 8011 Freeze Road, Kannapolis.
