Transportation officials will hold an open-house public meeting next week for the proposed extension of Kimball Road (approximately 0.6 mile on new location) south of North Chapel Street. The proposed roadway will connect North Chapel Street, near the new railroad bridge to U.S. 29 (Cannon Boulevard) in Landis.

The open-house public meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Moose Lodge at 990 Old Beatty Ford Road, China Grove from 4 to 6 p.m.

The main purpose of the project is to provide an efficient roadway connector linking South Main Street and U.S. 29. This will improve mobility and reduce the volume of through traffic in residential neighborhoods along Bostian Road and within The Oaks of Landis.

Other benefits of the project include a reduction in vehicle and pedestrian conflicts and improved emergency response time through the area.

Interested citizens are encouraged to attend at any time during those hours; please note there will not be a formal presentation.

NCDOT and consultant staff will be available to provide information on the project, answer questions and receive comments.
