The American Red Cross is asking people to help create comfort kits for military personal recovering in military hospitals overseas.
Military heroes make sacrifices every day for millions of Americans they will never meet. They risk their lives and spend precious time away from loved ones to keep us safe and protect our most basic freedoms.
This Veterans Day, you can give something back to the incredible men and women in uniform. For the service members recovering from illness or injury at a military treatment facility, comfort kits not only provide much-needed necessities, but are reminders that their service and sacrifice is not forgotten. There is someone at home who remembers and cares. Show your support and appreciation by providing comfort kits to a service member recovering in a military hospital overseas.
A comfort kit includes items like shampoo, soap and washcloths – small items that can mean so much for a service member who is recovering far from home.
For $75, 30 service members will receive comfort kits; $125 can buy 50; $250 can buy 100 kits; and $500 can buy 200 comfort kits.
